The biggest change to tax credits

The House Ways and Means Committee has introduced the tax portion of the budget bill. This legislation has something for everyone (but maybe not what you want). Research and development expenses, employee retention credit, and energy credits are all addressed in the bill. While the bill has been introduced and advanced out of the committee, it still needs to survive the full-floor vote and then passage through the Senate. The one safe bet is that there will be changes to the bill before it is signed into law. I will review the bill’s treatment of the most relevant programs below.
